Everton 31/20 to win against Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon

Competition: Premier League
Market: Everton to win against Arsenal
Odds:

Everton host Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, and are hoping to pile the misery onto the Gunners to boost their own hopes of finishing in the top-half, while delivering a crushing blow to Arsenal’s fledgling title hopes.

Currently 12th in the Premier League with 38 points from 28 games, Everton haven’t had the best of campaigns under Roberto Martinez, but their recent form is much improved. The Blues have had problems on home soil, but are coming off the back of six wins from eight so they have some momentum.

Arsenal aren’t in any form ahead of their weekend clash with the Toffees, with the Gunners having lost five and drawn two of their last eight in all co…

Thierry Henry linked with France return

Catalan daily newspaper that former Arsenal icon Thierry Henry could be returning to French Ligue 1.

The 37-year-old will be leaving New York Red Bulls when the season ends in October, but he has no plans to end his career just yet.

A return to Europe appears on the cards and Sport claims that Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco lead the chase for the forward s signature.

While the Saints could stay without Edinson Cavani, their league rivals are desperate for attacking reinforcements following the departure of Radamel Falcao and they could really use a player of Henry s calibre and experience.

The Frenchman has spent last four years in the MLS, making 128 league appearances and scoring 52 goals.

He also enjoyed a short-term loan spell with Arsenal d…

Gundogan won’t sign new City deal

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Ilkay Gundogan does not want to sign a new contract at the moment.

This situation seems to have been going on for some time, with the midfielder expressing his intention not to rush into a new deal about a month ago.

Guardiola also said that if the situation remains as it is, the 28-year-old will have to go, hinting that it might happen this summer. The Premier League champions aren t likely to allow the player to enter the last year of his contract, which expires in the summer of 2020, and potentially open the door for him to leave for free next year.

The Catalan has, however, expressed his hope that it won t come to that and Gundogan will decide to stay, but at the moment, his future at the Etihad is in g…

Valencia joins Tigres from West Ham

West Ham have confirmed that striker Enner Valencia has joined Tigres UANL for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old is said to have completed a medical over the weekend after a fee reportedly between £6million and £7m was agreed between the clubs.

West Ham have now ratified the deal, allowing Valencia to head to Mexico to begin training with his new team-mates.

The Ecuador international joined the Premier League club in 2014 after impressing for Pachuca in Liga MX.

His time in England was blighted by injuries, however, and he only scored 10 times in 72 appearances for the Hammers.

Valencia was loaned to Everton last season, for whom he scored three times in 23 games.

Zinchenko: Ukraine must stop ´amazing´ Sterling

Oleksandr Zinchenko says Ukraine must find a way to stop the amazing Raheem Sterling but they should not fear facing England in a Euro 2020 quarter-final on Saturday.

Ukraine beat Sweden 2-1 after extra time at Hampden Park on Tuesday courtesy of a last-gasp winner from Artem Dovbyk.

Andriy Shevchenko s side travel to Rome to face the Three Lions at the Stadio Olimpico, with Gareth Southgate s side having beaten Germany 2-0 at Wembley.

Sterling opened the scoring for England with his third goal of the tournament before Harry Kane sealed the victory.

Zinchenko, who was on target in the win over Sweden, knows Ukraine will have to keep a close eye on his Manchester City team-mate in the Eternal City.

Raheem Sterling is one of the best wingers in the…

Rodrygo: I don´t want to be the new Neymar

I always said that I wanted to be Rodrygo and make my story, Robinho and Neymar are great idols of Santos and of all the places where they played. I m just starting out and I think there is only one Neymar.

I always had that weight over me, but I just want to be Rodrygo.

Rodrygo – who has three international appearances to his name – came off the bench in Brazil s 5-0 rout of Bolivia in Sao Paulo on Friday.

He has made two LaLiga appearances for Madrid in 2020-21, having played 19 matches last term and 26 across all competitions.

I think it is very important to have a good level, we all know that we have excellent players in my position, Rodrygo said. It is very important that when it is my turn to play I do well and do what Tite asks of me in tra…

Beckham not in Capello plans

England manager Fabio Capello says he has no intention of selecting former captain David Beckham in his squad.

Beckham missed out on the Italian s 2010 World Cup team because of an Achilles injury but did fly out to South Africa in an off-field role.

The LA Galaxy midfielder said last week he still has desires of representing his country, but he may have to wait until Capello leaves after Euro 2012, and at the age of 36 that could limit future opportunities.

When Capello was asked about Beckham being part of his off-field setup or being selected for Euro 2012, he told Sky Sports News: No, I think he will only be involved in the Olympic Games. I don t know. I have time to decide. Is he in my plans now? No.

The 36-year-old Beckham has won 116 internationa…

Dominic Calvert-Lewin ends goal drought to earn Everton a point at Newcastle

Dominic Calvert-Lewin came off the bench to deny Newcastle victory but could not spare Everton an unwanted record of 13 Premier League games without victory.

The England international converted an 87th-minute penalty – his first goal since October – to cancel out Alexander Isak’s first-half opener and secure a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park as the Magpies were made to pay for missed chances.

Dan Burn had seen a second-half strike ruled out for offside after a VAR review and both sides were denied by the woodwork and ultimately neither got what they really needed.

The centre-back has been linked with Barcelona on a number of occasions in 2011, but he stressed that has no interest in leaving San Siro just yet.

I want to remain here at Milan until my contract runs out in 2016, and then I want to sign another four-year deal, Silva said in an interview with Milan Channel.

I really hope that (vice-president Adriano) Galliani is watching this interview and that he knows what to do next.

Cup win can start trophy run, says Comolli

Liverpool director Damien Comolli said winning the Carling Cup would give the club a boost to win more silverware in future.

The Reds have not won any silverware since the FA Cup in 2006 and the former Tottenham board member admitted that it would be massive if the side were victorious when they take on Cardiff City at Wembley on Sunday.

The place is buzzing for Sunday and, if we win it, it would give a boost to absolutely everybody at the club, Comolli told the club s official website.

I remember last year, (Manchester City boss) Roberto Mancini said before the (FA) Cup final that, once you win the first one (trophy), it gives confidence to everybody.

We had a similar experience at Spurs when we won the League Cup in 2008 against Chelsea. For me, th…
