Young set for new Manchester United deal

According to a recent report from Sky sources, Ashley Young is expected to sign a new one year contract extension with Manchester United. There have been talks back and forth between the two parties over the course of the last few weeks and potentially even months, and now, it’s understood that the discussions are progressing very well. The 33 year old Premier League veteran has been at Old Trafford since back in 2011, when he made his £17 million switch over from Aston Villa. In the last 12 years he has fluctuated back and forth between being seen as ‘not good enough’ and ‘overrated’ in the eyes of the masses, and now, the majority of fans seem to be somewhere in the middle.

Young has featured in every single game under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer so far during the Norwegian’s tenure, and is also considered to be an important member of the England national team.
