La Liga powerhouse opened negotiations over a proposed summer deal for Honduras star Choco Lozano, Spanish media outlet Diario AS has learned.
The 24-year-old Honduras striker has spent last two seasons playing for Segunda side Tenerife on loan from Olimpia. He bagged 10 goals apiece for the Spanish club and appears to have drawn the interest of one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The Catalans are only one of the interested parties for Choco Lozano who is thought to be wanted by Getafe and Leganes, whereas there appears to have been some interest from the MLS as well.
Choco Lozano could become the first-ever Honduran player to don a Barcelona shirt.
The player himself went on to confirm transfer speculations, revealing that ‘everything that’s being discussed in the media was true’.
“I have already had contacts with Barcelona representatives, although we will have to wait for the clubs to decide on a potential transfer.”, Lozano said.
Choco Lozano began his career at Olimpia in 2009.
He moved to Valencia two years after but failed to break into the first team and was ultimately loaned to Alcoyon before returning to Olimpia in 2013.
